Learn to Sew I - Returning to MAS in Sept. 2026!
Instructor: Megan (Goulart) Hunt
Dates / Times:
Tuesdays Sept. 8, 15, 22
5:45 - 8:15PM
Class Cap: 4
Registration Fee: $125
This class is for the person who wants to sew….the person who wants an A to Z overview of what it’s all about and how to start and build upon the skills in a logical (non frustrating) manner.
Our class is designed to be efficient, help you get started on basic sewing, and to interest you in further development of skills.
Our Objectives for this class:
Participants will learn how to use a home sewing machine, the fundamentals of stitching, tools required, overview of needles, thread and fabrics.
This is a hands-on class, and students are welcomed to bring their own machines (provided they are in working order), or use studio machines.
The first week, your project and materials will be provided.
At that time, class participants will decide on the second project with instructor guidance.
This class will empower you to make basic items on the sewing machine and by the end, to make basic alterations to garments, as well as be prepared to take more advanced sewing classes, such as Guided Sew, where you choose the projects with instructor collaboration, and receive the necessary coaching to achieve your goals.
