$90.00

Jean Jacket Restyle - Barbara Hendricks, Meg Goulart

Saturdays - 6/08, 6/15, 6/22

12:30 - 2:30 PM

$90

Class is capped at 4 participants

Don’t you just love a jean jacket? First inspired by Levi Strauss in 1880, the jean jacket lives on, in its many forms.

This class presents an opportunity for you to personalizer / customize your own jean jacket. Do you have one you would like to embellish, or maybe you would have fun thrifting one?

We will briefly review the construction of the jackets brought to class, and brainstorm ideas for how you want to update this classic jacket by deconstructing and reconstructing some features. Think lace or textile panels, embroidery, sashiko*......the possibilities are endless.

*Sashiko is”.....a form of decorative reinforcement stitching (or functional embroidery) from Japan. Traditional sashiko was used to reinforce points of wear, or to repair worn places or tears with patches. Today this running stitch technique is often used for purely decorative purposes in quilting and embroidery…..”
