Learn to Sew II

$150.00

Nov. 5, 12, 19, 26

 Tuesdays 6:30 - 8:30PM

 $150.00

Instructor: Meg Goulart

For this class, it is preferred that you have taken LTSI, or have acquired the skills that would allow you to make projects similar to those listed in LTSI,

OR you:

Know the basics of machine use, stitching basics, and you have made basic pieces from non-stretch fabrics.

We will introduce sewing of stretch fabrics, many of which you may find in your own wardrobe, signaling “preferred” fabric. We will practice different strategies for different stretch fabrics (needle types and stitch types), which will provide you with a foundation for how to find the best stitching strategy whenever you use a stretch fabric.

Our first project will be to make an ear warmer headband, or a beanie cap.

We will continue with learning how to sew stretch fabrics and to “read” and use a basic pattern to make a long or short sleeved T-shirt, following layout  and construction directions included in the pattern. Class capped at 4 participants
