Update 9/25/21

1. Classic Tailoring Goes Hybrid and Shares all Class Demo Recordings

Jane Headley's 9 week Classic Tailoring class, starting on 9/29 (next week) is going to be in Hybrid format!

This means that you can take it at the West Side Sewing Studio, or from the comfort (and distance) of your own home! 

All demonstrations will be recorded and shared on our Youtube channel the day after class. You will have access to all class demo recordings up to 2 weeks following the end of the class. These are very helpful in the week following class, as we work on next steps to our tailored jackets and coats. 


We will accept 3 more registrations for this class.  This can include 2 people who would like to take it remotely.

IF you decide to register and would like to be a remote participant, please email Barbara directly, at in order to determine that a remote spot is still available.

2. Jen Stern’s 3 week class “The Great Ruboff” (copy ready to wear) starts Weds. 10/13 @ 5:30 - 8:00PM

3. Kenneth D King, Oct. 7th, Live on Zoom

2 hour presentation - Working with Faux Fur  - Kenneth is sure to entertain and educate! Class Description here: MAS Classes

All who register will receive links to the entire recorded session, as well as links to any video material Kenneth shares during his presentation. (Please note, these are for participants' personal use and not to be shared otherwise).

4. Nancy Hoell’s 3 Serger “know-how” classes includes a series of 3 classes for participants to up their Serger skills.

Series starts on 10/14, In-person, @6:00 - 8:30PM

If you don’t need the 4 week “Know and love your Serger” class, you may be interested in “Heirloom Serging” and / or “Heirloom Project” classes. Participants may register for 2, 4,  6, or 8 weeks. Full description here: MAS Classes


Update 9/15/21

New offer! Custom Dress and Pants Forms

Anna Taylor and Ben Greslick from “” are in the business of producing custom dress forms and pants forms for the best fitting outcomes a sewist could expect.

Anna and Ben will be available on Saturday, October 9th,  from 3:30 - 8:30PM, at West Side Sewing Studio, 27 SimsAve., Providence. We can take up to 10 (30 minute) appointments.

COVID POLICY: Please note that the Fall ‘21 in-person classes will be provided for vaccinated participants only. (Attending remotely will be an option for some in-person classes - inquire via email:

NOTE: Class registration fees are non-refundable, unless your slot on the roster is filled by a waitlisted customer.




A minimum of 5 students is required to run a class, and class size will be limited to 10 to 12 participants, class dependent. Payments can be made via website, with debit/ credit cards and Venmo. 

All classes are priced at $35/ week; each class meets once weekly for 2.5 hours, unless otherwise stated.

*Master the Art of Sewing is a sole proprietorship, allowing for flexibility in many ways. Classes may be added at any point during the course of the year. Come back often to check for workshop offerings and additional class postings, based on customer interest.
